Meryl's session for our employees on journaling and sketching was so much more than that. It challenged us to break out of our restrictive thinking habits and gave us practical tools for pushing further, all while sharing her beautiful artwork and deeply personal examples from her own life. Both a treat and a soul-opening experience.
- Janice MacInnis, Manager, Organizational Health, Dalhousie University

In our workshop with Meryl Cook, we learned hooking as a way of unleashing our creative expression, we articulated our team identity and vision, and we built team cohesion through creating an inspirational rug that celebrates our group identity and aspirations. I feel so proud of my team, how they leaned into the exercises and got the most out of this unique experience with Meryl. We are all so proud of the artful products of our work and love to share the meaning of our piece with others. This workshop was just what we needed to celebrate our wonderful team, to get to know each other in a more intimate way, build trust and pride among us, and see how we all care deeply about improving our department and the protection of the environment and human health through the programs we lead. I see the impact of this workshop day to day in the affection, respect and collaboration our team shows each other – it was truly energizing!
- Elizabeth C. Kennedy, Director of Industrial Management, Water & Wastewater, Nova Scotia Environment

For our team’s professional development retreat, we invited Meryl Cook to facilitate a team building workshop. ... The unique structure and delivery of the workshop kept staff engaged while the subtleness of the exercises culminated into a very reflective, transformative experience.... In the end, the team produced something unique, beautiful and more importantly something reflective of each individual. The final piece is hung in a prominent space in our office....
Two years later, as we are bringing staff back to the office and integrating staff who were hired during the pandemic, this installation serves as a reminder of the team vision and culture. For new staff, it not only sets a tone for our team’s culture but also shows how individual personalities and perspectives strengthen the team. - Krysta Montreuil, Drinking Water Analyst, Sustainability & Applied Science Division, Nova Scotia Environment & Climate Change
