Spaciousness

What do you want to create in your life? What would that feel like, look like? These are the questions I’m considering as I mark moving into my 68th year and the changing of the calendar to 2024. Here is an excerpt from my journal as I work through these questions.

As I contemplate, I find myself clearing clutter and creating space in my home in my office – one small corner at a time, one shelf at a time.

I’m getting rid of what I no longer need. I want to create space for new ideas, for solidifying projects I want to keep. While doing this I discover my intention for the coming year. I want to approach this year with a feeling of spaciousness. Without hurry or urgency. I’m taking time to create the life I want, to consider my next steps. There is no rush. It is all coming together in its own time. I want to be spacious and generous with myself and with others.

The feeling of spaciousness is open, restful, allowing, ‘Let it Be”. It feels uncluttered, expansive and clear.

Try this process

When figuring out how to move forward, one of the processes I use is to ask myself questions, like ‘What do I want to create going forward? What would that look like? Feel like? What are the sensations?” I use what I call tapping into the body feeling, where I imagine moving forward and how my body would feel if this scenario came true?

You can learn more about this process and other techniques for getting unblocked and moving forward in my book One Loop at a Time, The Creativity Workbook.
