Wild Women Run 5K/10K!

Wild Women Run 5K/10K! is one of my Wild Woman series. It was inspired by a couple of ambitious running goals set by my running partner and I. Two women in our 60’s, she had never run and I hadn’t run consistently for many years. We set our first goal to get to a 5K distance – and we did it! Feeling invincible, we set a goal of getting to 10K by my 65th birthday – and we met it again! Wild Women Run 5K/10K reflects the joy we feel at being able to run. Rug hooking and wet felting on linen, using recycled, commercial and hand spun fibres and fabrics. 15″ x 18.5″

This piece will be part of an exhibit from February 26 to March 20 at the Ice House Gallery in Tatamagouche, Nova Scotia. If you’re in the area, I hope you can stop in to see it in real life!
