Notes from my journal – Boundaries

Are you an empath? Someone who feels deeply what the people around you are experiencing? Do you operate on a mostly intuitive level? People who know you may describe you as sensitive.

Having these qualities can be a great asset – for tuning into others, making them feel seen and heard and for a host of other things. But it can also be exhausting. It can lead you to getting involved in other people’s drama at the expense of your own well being.

If this applies to you, … I hear you. Boy, do I hear you. It was suggested to me recently that I consider creating a nurturing boundary around myself (as opposed to creating boundaries between myself and others). Here are some notes from my journal as I explore this theme:

Journal notes:

What if instead of creating boundaries between me and others I could create a boundary around myself that was nurturing?* That helped me to absorb less of the energy of the world and others around me. That helped me to interact with the world from a place of being centred, of feeling safe, warm, protected.

I would be less reactive, more able to observe and act from a place of compassion without feeling as if my foundation is being rocked. It would allow me to proceed on my own path in a calm, purposeful way. Less knocked off course by what is developing around me.

Writing prompt:

Describe your nurturing boundary. What does it look and feel like? See if you can draw it or make a piece of art inspired by this prompt.

How can I help?

Are you ready to make a change, reinvent yourself, and make time for self care and creativity?

Are you on the cusp of seeing your potential to be a better version of yourself and you want to know how to do this?

Would you like to find your voice and be wild with purpose?

I’d love to work with you, to help you get started. A great place to start is with my FREE Creating Space journaling prompts.

Here’s how it works…

You’ll receive a journaling prompt and creativity/design tips from me each week.
